Fixing Four Common Libido Busters
Ladies, have you found yourself in a sexual slump lately and you can’t quite figure out why? Is the mind willing but the flesh weak – or just having a hard time getting arouse? Not sure why you aren’t as horny as you were last month?
Here are four common reasons why a woman would have a low libido, and what you can to do correct it.
Your medication is putting a damper on your sex life. Some of the most common medication that a woman would take – birth control pills, hormone replacement therapies, and even antidepressants can flip your switch into the ‘off’ position. If you think this is the case, bring it up with your doctor. Often there are alternative medications that you can take to drop this unwanted side effect. Other times there are secondary meds you can take to help reduce the symptoms.
It’s hay fever season. Allergies are a one-two punch when it comes to killing off your sex drive. With untreated allergies, the watery eyes, stuffy nose, and sinus pain can really get you out of the mood fast. For those who are taking antihistamines to combat this seasonal pain the back side, you may notice the well-known drowsy side effects, as well as the not-so-well-known side effect of vaginal dryness. Grab a non-drowsy packet of pills next time you hit the drug store, and include a bottle of lubricant while you’re at it!
That new fad diet isn’t just dropping off the weight. When you’re not eating right, whether it is due to bad habits or a bad diet, it can really put a stress on all your body systems, including your libido. If you are on a diet, be sure it’s a well-balanced once where you are getting what you need. If you’re on three weeks of drinking nothing but lemon water and multivitamins, the lack of a sex drive could be the least of your worries!
That fourth glass of wine was just too much. We all know that alcohol can have a downward effect on a man’s sexual activity, but it can actually have a similar effect on women as well. Just because your inhibitions are lowered and your brain may be up for a roll in the hay doesn’t mean the rest of you has that same idea. Excess drinking can make you tired and depressed – not a libido booster by any means!
