Tips For Starting Your Own Sex Blog
Are you the type that likes to share the joys of their sex lives? Sex blogging has become more and more accepted in the last few years, with some of the most famous internet ‘faces’ sharing their bedrooms with the entire world. If you’re looking to break into the blogging world to share your own love life, there are a few things you should take into consideration before taking the plunge!
Free Hosting versus Paid Hosting – One of the very first decisions you will need to make when it comes to setting up a sex blog is whether you’re going to use free hosted services like Blogger or WordPress, or pay for your own hosting and domain name. Depending on the content of your blog, your decision may already be made for you. Many freehost services do not allow ‘obscene’ material (meaning sexually suggestive images) on their blogs. If you plan on sharing your home made sex pics or videos, you should look into paid for hosting. But, if you’re just planning on putting your life out there in the form of words, you should be safe with a free hosted blog. Always be aware that the terms and conditions of most freehosts can change at any time, so your blog could be ‘safer’ in the long term by using a paid service.
Privacy – How much are you willing to share with your readers? Make this decision before you publish a single word, as once it is on the internet, it can never be taken off. (Yes, you can delete your blog, but there are very easy ways to ‘look back’ through the internet’s past to see historic pages.) If you don’t want your real name, address and phone number out there, be sure to set up domain privacy when you buy your domain name. Otherwise, the owner of the website (usually you) is public information available to anyone who knows where to look.
Connecting with Other Bloggers – One of the easiest ways to get your blog ‘out there’ is to connect with other bloggers who write in the same genre that you do. This is easier done if you are focusing your blog on a specific fetish or niche. There are hundreds of ‘blogging groups’ on the internet for BDSM bloggers, foot fetishists, polyamorous relationships, LGBT couples, and many more. If it’s a ‘lifestyle’, there’s a blog group about it!
Social Media Connections – Having trouble connecting with your most suitable blogging group? Hit the social media circuit! Twitter and Tumblr are the most ‘adult friendly’ platforms out there, with Pinterest, Facebook and others having various restrictions on adult materials and content. Search out hashtags (words with a ‘#’ in front of them) related to your niche to find others who are writing about the same.
