Why Are Men Attracted To Large Breasts
For most guys, a large set of breasts is one of the factors their “dream girl” has. You may think that this all relates back to a woman’s fertility and child rearing, and that men are hard wired to be attracted to larger breasts. While that is correct in a sense, you may be surprised to find out the real details on why men are so in love with a woman’s upper half!
First, we need to remember that humans are one of the few creatures on earth that routinely have face to face sex. This gives the man greater access to a woman’s breasts than animals who tend to have sex from behind. In addition, humans are typically monogamous (although there is a good argument out there that we actually are not!). Both of these factors play into what actually attracts a man to a woman’s breast tissue.
Recent research has found that men’s attraction to breasts have more to do with the nipples themselves rather than the breast as a whole. In the majority of women, stimulating the nipples triggers at part in the brain that is also activated when clitoral and vaginal stimulation occurs. The brain then releases oxytocin, which helps focus a woman’s attention on their sexual partner, strengthening their need to bond with that person. Sound familiar? A version of this process also happens with breast feeding children. The feeling of feeding also triggers the release of oxytocin in the body, which helps the mother bond with their child.Larry Young, from Emery University has been studying the neurological basis of complex social behaviors has said “Evolution has selected for this brain organization in men that makes them attracted to the breasts in a sexual context, because the outcome is that it activates the female bonding circuit, making women feel more bonded with him. It’s a behavior that males have evolved in order to stimulate the female’s maternal bonding circuitry.”
There are some critics to this theory, though. In cultures where women typically go topless, men don’t find breasts as a primary sexual attraction. That’s not to say that breasts aren’t part of their sexual experiences, just which this aspect has yet to be studied.
So why do you feel that men are attracted to larger breasted women? Do you think it’s based on the former notion that larger breasted women are better at feeding their infant children? Does it enhance the ‘hourglass’ figure that’s associated with fertility? Or do you think it has to do with the sexual bonding mechanism that Larry Young discusses? Why do you think that some women who are also attracted to women find larger breasts sexy? We’d love to hear from you!
